"They make marketing materials that communicates clearly while heavily engaging the viewer in the content."
- Tom Hutchinson, CEO of Rainbow/MLT Cinemas®
Rainbow Cinemas and Magic Lantern Theatres is a chain of movie theatres in Canada and the second largest in the country. The MLT company was founded in 1984 in Edmonton, Alberta, while Rainbow Cinemas was founded in the early 1990s in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The two chains merged and are now based in Edmonton. Home of the $5 Tuesdays, this particular chain focuses on indie, art house and festival screenings more than your typical blockbusters. The company was also the first chain in Canada to have a fully-licensed bar. The staff friendliness, great film selection, lower prices, and the old time movie-going vibe are what makes this cinema chain stand out from the pack.
We were delighted to collaborate with a theatre chain who has a community-focused reputation and embraces its campy aesthetics more so than the average cinema. Being able to have our hands in film and design projects that cover all aspects of the moviegoer experience, while being shared across the country, had us giddy with excitement. After all, we're big movie-lovers ourselves! Our work included the following:
Movie Event Posters
Movie Pre-Show Content
Magazine / Newspaper Adverts
Large / Small Floor Decals
Menu Board Signage
Social Media Adverts
Rainbow Cinemas and Magic Lantern Theatres operate cinemas from all across Canada. They are leaders of innovative promotions involving charities and local causes and encourage their staff to be proactive in community work - allowing our advertising reach to extend far past just Hollywood filmmaking. This business philosophy has proved to be popular and has contributed directly to their success and growth.
